Description

Another fantastic example of old Macallan, The Macallan Fine and Rare Series of whiskies was designed to represent the very best vintages / whisky that Macallan had to offer, dating back as far as 1926. Distilled in 1952 and bottled from single sherry cask #1250, this is fantastically well-aged at 49 years old.

Nose
Honey, lemon freshness, light peat, delicate wood, distinct floral notes, pineapple/tropical fruits, orange citrus, wood age.
Palate
Fuller than the aroma suggests, dried fruit (especially raisins), lingering peat smoke, noble oak structure, terrific fruit mix, hints of wood, resiny spices (cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg), more peat.
Finish
Long and layered, molasses, caramel, cloves, dried plums, classic wood maturity, a late hint of peat, fruity cornucopia, lingering finish that leaves a lasting impression.
