Ardmore 23 Year Old, Oak Cask, Cask #1183, 1977, Signatory Vintage, 58.1%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

86 / 100

The peat alongside lemon and herbs gives this a clear, focused character. Pepper and ginger bring some force, while the slightly rough coastal edge keeps it from sounding especially polished. That balance feels more interesting than simply smooth.
