Bowmore Black Bowmore 29 Year Old, Sherry Cask, 1993, 50%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

92 / 100

The long, intense finish is what gives this its pull: peat, dried fruit and oak linger together, with a warming edge rather than a quick fade. That follows through on the dense palate, where tropical fruit and dark chocolate sit alongside chewy peat and rich sherry character. It sounds full and forceful, but the fruit and dark sweetness give the peat something to play against. A clear fit for someone who likes a lingering, peat-led close.
