89 / 100
The 41.3% ABV gives a useful reference point, but the real draw is the coffee thread running from nose to finish. Bourbon, citrus and cereal bring some variety up front, while liquorice and slightly burnt vanilla toffee give the palate a darker turn. Cream and sugar soften the closing coffee note. For a 40-year-old single grain, that progression makes for a distinctive, appealing character.
