Cardhu 12 Year Old 4/5 Quart, Bourbon Cask, 43.4%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

87 / 100

The finish gets the last word: lingering sweet smoke, honey, and oak, with a drying aftertaste. That push and pull between sweetness and dryness gives the description some shape, rather than ending on sweetness alone. Up front, apple and pear sit alongside caramel and oak spices; the palate carries those fruits and honey through, with pepper in the mix. A tidy, appealing arc, especially for anyone who likes a finish that hangs around but still dries out.
