The sweetness of banana bread, plum and dark sugar gives this an inviting start, but the meaty, oily notes and coffee pull it into a much earthier direction. Winter spices, figs and cardamom keep the palate layered, while the medium finish moves toward black pepper, roasted nuts and dates. That contrast is appealing, though the savory weight makes it less straightforward than an easygoing malt. A distinctive, full-bodied character with plenty to engage an enthusiast.
