Craigellachie Glenlivet 12 Year Old, Sherry Cask, 2007, Cadenhead's, 53%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

88 / 100

The sweet, fruity character alongside pineapple, grapefruit and lemon zest gives this whisky a lively center, while ginger and pepper add a more pointed edge on the palate. Oak appears in the finish, sharing space with the fruit and vanilla rather than taking over the description. I like that balance: oak is part of the story, but it isn’t the whole story.
