Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage 7 Year Old, Cask #1030, 2020, 43.3%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

87 / 100

This bourbon’s sweeter side is balanced by plenty of contrast. Caramelised macadamia nuts meet dried red chilli and cedar oak on the nose, while vanilla and coconut share the palate with orange peel and toasted rye bread. The finish brings toasted nuts, spice and some tropical fruits. That mix gives the sweeter notes savoury, citrus and spicy company rather than letting them dominate, which makes for an appealingly varied character.
