Four Roses Barrel Strength OBSQ 'Liquor Barn' Private Barrel Selection 11 Year Old, New Charred Oak Cask, Cask #5-1D, 2015, 55%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

90 / 100

The sweet side has plenty of detail here: cherry pie, fig, molasses and vanilla are met by spicy rye, black pepper and a firm oak presence. That contrast keeps the richness from reading as one-note, while leather and tobacco add a drier edge on the palate. The finish’s lingering spice and charred oak sound especially appealing alongside its returning fruit and caramel. A layered, confidently structured bourbon, with sweetness kept in check by spice and oak.
