Glen Turner Exclusive Reserve 18 Year Old, Oak Cask, 40%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

84 / 100

This reads as a gently sweet, malt-led Highland malt, with honey, nuts and marmalade on the nose. The palate moves toward toasted chocolate cake and toffee, while orange juice and vanilla keep that sweetness from feeling one-note. Oak and vanilla cake carry through the finish. There is a little wood smoke alongside the softer aromas, though the stated character is more about malt, fruit and dessert-like notes than a strong spice contrast. A composed, easygoing combination rather than a sharp or spice-led one.
