GlenDronach Single Cask 26 Year Old, Pedro Ximénez Sherry Puncheon Cask, Cask #2973, Batch No. 14, 2016, 50.8%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

91 / 100

There’s a useful contrast between the marmalade and dried fruit on the nose and the dates, prunes and raisins on the palate, with ginger, black pepper and clove oil bringing a sharper edge. The finish keeps dark fruit in view, then shifts toward citrus, spiced cocoa and lingering minerality. That lingering note stands out most; overall, it reads as a layered, spice-led sherry-cask malt rather than sweetness alone.
