Glenfiddich 12 Year Old Special Reserve, American Oak & European Oak Sherry Cask, 40%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

87 / 100

Pear, apple and citrus keep the opening bright, while the palate turns sweet and creamy with butterscotch and a touch of spice. The best part for my preferences is the long, mellow finish: honey and fruit linger, with a hint of chocolate or subtle oak to round things out. There’s a nice shift from fresh fruit to softer, richer notes, without making the finish sound heavy. A cheerful Speyside shape with a patient goodbye.
