The contrast between cracked black peppercorns and the sweeter molasses, honey and red fruit is the most appealing part for my taste. Cinnamon and nutmeg add another clear layer of spice, while the finish is described as warm and dry alongside sweet malt and ginger spices. That balance gives the sherried character some shape rather than making sweetness the whole story. It sounds generous and well-layered, though the punchy oak and dry finish may keep it from feeling especially soft.
