Glengoyne 21 Year Old, Sherry Cask, 43%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

88 / 100

The appeal here is the meeting of rich sherry and red apple, with figs and raisins carrying through to milk chocolate, caramel and roasted nuts. Orange and cinnamon add contrast to those deeper, sweeter notes, while the finish brings dried fruit, pepper, sherry and oak. The stated 43% ABV gives useful context, but the interest is in this layered, sherry-led character rather than any claim about strength.
