Glenkinchie 10 Year Old, Oak Cask, 2006, 43%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

86 / 100

The character has a gentle contrast: sweet barley sugar and late-summer fruit on the palate, followed by a clean, dry finish with oak and smoky spice. That balance feels more appealing than a dram built around sweetness alone. The light floral and grassy notes on the nose keep the overall impression measured, while the hints of ginger and black pepper add a little lift without taking over.
