The fruit-led character gives this 18-year-old a gentle, inviting direction, with apricot and apple on the nose carrying through to orange peel and vanilla on the palate. I especially like the contrast between those sweeter notes and the lingering oak, spice, and dried fruit. The ex-sherry casks sit naturally alongside the fruit notes, while the overall impression remains rounded rather than heavily driven by one flavour. A composed Speyside single malt that appeals through balance and a lingering, spiced finish.
