The smoke stays on the subtle side in the nose, while the palate brings in a clearer earthy peat-and-hay note alongside smoked toffee. That balance suits my preference for smoke when it has company rather than taking over. Lemon, pastry, and baking spices add a lively counterpoint, and the long, mellow oak finish gives the sweeter, older character room to linger.
