Grants Triple Wood, Virgin Oak, American Oak & Refill Bourbon Cask, 40%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

86 / 100

At 40% ABV, the key draw is the contrast between sweet malt, vanilla and toffee and the gentle oak and warm spice. Ripe pear and summer fruits bring a brighter thread, while the subtle smoke stays in the background rather than taking over the description. That sounds like an approachable direction for a blended whisky, with enough wood and spice to keep the sweetness from feeling one-note. A warm, well-joined character on paper.
