The malt character gives this plenty to explore: barley sweetness and a honeyed quality sit alongside pear and lemon curd, while light smoke adds a gentle counterpoint. I like that the fruit doesn’t crowd out the grain, and the finish keeps barley and malt in view with a little earthy bitterness. A lively, layered direction for a lightly peated single malt.
