The oak influence is most apparent in the finish, alongside wood spice, smoke, espresso, leather and tobacco. That darker, more assertive close sits against a palate described as fresh and light, with fruit, bread and butterscotch. I find that contrast interesting, though the oak-led finish may feel stronger than the rest of the character. The vanilla and biscuit notes on the nose help bridge the two sides.
