J.P. Wiser's Dissertation 12 Year Old, Virgin Oak & Bourbon Cask, 2017, 46.1%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

86 / 100

The rye and vanilla give the nose a clear grain-and-oak focus, while cherries and apple bring a sweeter edge. The finish sounds warmly spiced and lingering. There is plenty going on, though the combination may lean quite sweet.
