Johnnie Walker Black Label Extra Special 12 Year Old, 40%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

74 / 100

It is a classic for a reason, though the peat is more of a whisper than the roar I usually look for. There is a decent hit of woodsmoke on the palate that keeps me interested, even if the 40% feels a bit thin. It is an easy-going blend that does not hide its soot entirely.
