Johnnie Walker Black Label Extra Special, Oak Cask, 43%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

88 / 100

the pairing of citrus peel with gentle peat smoke gives this blend an appealing lift, while creamy toffee and wood smoke bring a richer, warmer side on the palate. I’m especially drawn to that balance: the smoke is present without taking over, and the toasted oak and warm spices carry it into a lingering finish. A warmly rounded Scotch blend, with enough smoky character to keep it interesting.
