Kamet Single Malt, Bourbon, Wine & Sherry Cask, Batch No. 2, 2021, 46%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

88 / 100

Kamet’s sweet notes have some welcome company: vinous fruit and vanilla meet lively spice, while the finish brings dry and sherried sweetness alongside oak spice and tannins. That gives the vanilla and caramel a counterweight rather than letting sweetness do all the talking. Nutty notes and dark chocolate add another shade to the character. The balance is what appeals to me here, with fruit, sweetness and spice each having a place without crowding out the others.
