Stewed orchard fruit gives this Lark a welcoming centre, with mulled citrus adding a brighter counterpoint. Caramel-drizzled pastries and warm brioche suggest a rounded, bakery-like side, while mocha and dark cocoa keep it from reading as simply sweet. Honeyed blossoms and spiced pudding make for a graceful close. This balance of fruit and deeper cocoa notes appeals to me, and the Muscat cask finish gives the character a distinct direction.
