Loch Lomond Distillery Edition #6 8 Year Old, Bourbon Cask, 2024, 56.9%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

88 / 100

There’s a cheerful sweetness here, with coconut and pineapple running through the nose and palate, while pear and banana custard give the fruit a softer, rounder feel. I like the contrast in the finish: violets and coconut stay present, but grapefruit sherbet, pepper and dry wood bring a drier edge. That keeps the sweet notes from feeling one-dimensional. A lively, dessert-leaning character with a welcome turn toward sharper, more savoury details.
