Lochside 37 Year Old, Sherry Cask, 1981, The Auld Alliance, 48.6%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

86 / 100

I like the contrast in the notes: grapefruit and IPA-like hops on the palate, followed by raisiny sherry and a coffee-and-walnut aftertaste. The 48.6% ABV gives a clear strength reference without needing to be the whole story.
