Macallan 30 Year Old, Sherry Cask, 2022, 43%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

92 / 100

The long, rich finish is the clearest draw here: orange, spice and oak lead into a silky, slightly spicy smoke. That gives the whisky a lingering, layered impression alongside its dried-fruit-and-sherry character. The palate’s prunes, raisins and figs reinforce the fruit weight, while toasted oak and cinnamon add a measured counterpoint. It sounds polished and well balanced, though the smoke may be less appealing to someone who wants fruit alone.
