This is a Scottish Speyside single malt with a sherry-cask designation, and the notes give it a warm, familiar character without making the fruit feel overly soft. Baked pear on the nose carries through to apple tart on the palate, while nutmeg and cinnamon bring a drier edge. The sweet finish with almond and berry sounds like a pleasing close. A well-defined character that holds my interest.
