Macallan Rare Cask, Batch No. 2, 2019, 43%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

89 / 100

This points to a firmly rich rather than light style: sweet raisin and woody depth lead into a full-bodied palate, with vanilla and dark chocolate impressions giving it depth. Lemon offers a brighter contrast, so the richness doesn’t sound one-note. The long, warming, woody finish carries that weight through, while lingering dried-fruit sweetness keeps the fruit present. That balance of richness and a little lift is the clearest appeal here.
