The sherry-cask label is a useful anchor, and the notes make a convincing case for fruit and spice: ripe plum and dried fruit on the nose lead into red fruits, dates, nutmeg and cinnamon. I like that it isn’t described as only dark fruit and richness; citrus and slight oakiness carry through to the finish. The cask number and bottler add useful specificity, while the flavour character—not the cask label alone—is what makes this one interesting to me.
