Morris 36 South Double Grain, Red Wine Cask, 40%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

78 / 100

An interesting look at Australian column distillation. The double grain base provides a consistent cereal foundation that works well with the red wine cask maturation. At 40% it is approachable, though I would be curious to see how the grain sweetness holds up at a higher proof. The integration of the light oak char with the berry notes from the wine influence is technically sound.
