Old St Andrews Clubhouse, Sherry, Port & Sweet Wine Cask, 43%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

84 / 100

The sweet notes have a clear thread here: brown sugar and syrup on the nose lead into fruit, sherry and ginger spice on the palate. The slight touch of peat adds a quiet contrast rather than taking over. I like that balance, though the short, crisp finish makes this feel more focused on easy sweetness than lingering complexity. A pleasing, restrained direction for a blended whisky.
