My preference leans toward a clear peat-smoke character, and that isn’t what these notes point to. The bottle is labelled unpeated, with subtle oak char on the palate; that’s a different emphasis from peat smoke. Instead, the notes bring together dried fruit, toffee and baking spices, with caramel and oak continuing into a long, warming finish. It sounds rich and spice-led, though smoke does not seem central to its character.
