Port Ellen Private Stock 38 Year Old, Sherry Cask, Cask #MoS-PS003, 1982, Malts of Scotland, 59.9%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

88 / 100

Sherry cask, with syrup, honey and fruit in the notes, then ginger, pepper and dark chocolate to cut across the sweetness. That sounds nicely balanced on paper; the cask detail gets its place without having to explain every flavour.
