Rampur Select Cask Indian Single Malt Whisky, Ex-Bourbon Cask, 43%

87 / 100

The toffee and dried fruit on the nose make a friendly opening, while creamy malt and candied ginger give the palate a pleasing turn. The finish brings red fruit and baking spice alongside dry oak and dried apricot; I like that it has several layers to linger over without needing to make a grand gesture. A warm, well-connected set of flavours, with enough contrast to keep the sweeter notes from feeling one-note.
