Singleton Dufftown 12 Year Old, Bourbon & Sherry Cask, 40%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

86 / 100

This has an approachable Speyside character, with fresh fruit and familiar vanilla-toffee sweetness setting an easygoing tone. The citrus and baked apple give the palate a brighter edge, while the dried fruit and brown sugar keep it rounded. I like that the finish brings in nuts and a gentle oak spice rather than making the sweetness the whole story. A relaxed, well-joined style on paper, with enough detail to hold interest.
