Spey Chairman's Choice, Bourbon & Sherry Cask, 40%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

85 / 100

Green apple, pear and banana give the sweet notes a lively fruit edge, while citrus keeps the nose from feeling one-note. On the palate, honey, toffee and vanilla are joined by white pepper and a hint of spice, giving the sweetness some balance. The finish brings oak and ginger with a fizzy note; that sounds more interesting to me than a purely soft, sugary ending.
