Speyside 22 Year Old, Barrel Cask, Cask #90011, 1991, Chieftain's, 55%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

84 / 100

A 22-year-old that hasn't fallen asleep in the wood. The 55% ABV provides a necessary kick that keeps the Speyside profile from getting too soft. It is direct, honest, and thankfully lacks the usual marketing fluff found on modern bottles. It is a solid dram for those who actually enjoy the influence of a barrel cask without the distractions of a wine finish.
