Strathmill Old Malt Cask 39 Year Old, Sherry Cask, 1962, Douglas Laing, 45.2%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

87 / 100

The ripe fruit and sherry notes sound warmly inviting, while the dry oak and spice keep things nicely restrained. I like that contrast, and the hint of light smoke adds another layer without taking over.
