This is a gentle, sweetness-led blend, with spice that gives the vanilla some welcome contrast. On the nose, light oak spice and a touch of citrus sit beside a rich sweetness reminiscent of vanilla pudding. The palate keeps that pudding note and adds dried citrus, raisin, oak and baking spices. I like the way the spice gives the sweeter notes some shape without taking over; it makes the light character sound appealing rather than plain. The finish is clean, with vanilla fading quickly as milk chocolate, baking spice and a hint of smoke come through. For my taste, the balance is the draw here, though someone looking for a more forceful spice presence may find it a little restrained.
