Tobermory 12 Year Old, Bourbon & Virgin Oak Cask, 2020, 46.3%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

87 / 100

The ripe orange on the nose gives this a clear fruit point of focus, set against sweet, honeyed vanilla and delicate flowers. The palate sounds broader rather than fruit-specific, with a vibrant, spicy character and a rounded sweetness. I like that the finish shifts toward drying, gentle saltiness and floral spice instead of simply extending the sweetness. It reads as balanced and approachable, though the fruit detail seems most distinctive at the nose.
