Yamazaki Suntory Vintage Malt 10 Year Old, Sherry Cask, 2005, 56%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

88 / 100

The concentrated oak tannins and prunes give this a firm edge, while coffee, chocolate and dark berries with water add a richer counterpoint. That contrast appeals to me, though the tannins may keep it from feeling especially easygoing.
