Mizunara cask gives this a clear wood-led frame, but the documented character is more aromatic spice and fruit than a plainly stated oak flavour. Sandalwood and cinnamon offer a possible bridge to that wood influence, while apple, peach and kumquat keep the picture bright. The gentle honeyed sweetness and lingering peat add contrast without taking over. I find that balance appealing, though I’d have liked the oak itself to be more clearly expressed in the description.
