Lochlea Fallow Edition, Second Crop, Pedro Ximénez & Oloroso Sherry Cask, 2023, 46%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

88 / 100

Lochlea’s Fallow Edition looks appealing on paper for its concentrated sherry-cask character: dark fruits and sticky toffee pudding on the nose meet ginger spice and dark chocolate on the palate. The medium-length finish adds a drier edge with oak and black pepper, keeping the sweet notes from being the only story. The listed SGD 70.84 sale reference is useful context, but not enough by itself to call it value; the flavour balance is the stronger reason to consider it.
