Description

Chorlton Whisky was founded by David Bennett in 2016 and is an independent bottling company based in Manchester, England. Its bottlings are recognisable from their distinctive use of old medieval and Rennaissance works of art on the labels. This is a peated Highland single malt, distilled at an undisclosed Highland distillery and matured for 18 years in a refill barrel.

Nose
Complex aromatic fruitiness with notes of orange, fig leaf, mango, baked apple, and toasted barley, alongside savoury smoke, liquorice, and BBQ notes.
Palate
Sweet and lightly syrupy, smokier than the nose, with papaya, lemon, salty green olives, black treacle bacon, molasses, grilled pineapple, chili, and a lingering, slightly medicinal peat smoke.
Finish
Persistent and oily, with 'dirty' Ben Nevis notes, medicinal peaty smoke, tar, salted licorice, lemon, and salted caramel, like a warm hug from a smoke pit.
