Description

An award winning Eastern Highland malt that was almost unknown until it was bought by Bacardi in 1998. Aberfeldy was built in 1896 specifically for the purpose of supplying whisky for John and Tommy Dewar's White Label blend. It has a 5-star visitor centre opened in 2000 and its idyllic setting sees the distillery attract over 32,000 visitors a year. This Aberfeldy 12 Year Old Madeira Cask Finish is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky, aged for 12 years and finished in Madeira wine casks. It was launched as a UK travel retail exclusive in October 2023, offering a richer, fruitier twist on Aberfeldy's classic honeyed style.

Nose
Golden syrup, toasted barley, hints of dried apricot and walnut. Sweet fruits (apricots, pears) with honey, oxidized dried fruits, bruised yellow apples and caramel. Hazelnuts and vanilla, along with raisins and hints of buttery toffee.
Palate
Fudge and orange peel, candied ginger, soft vanilla, and raisin-dusted sponge cake. Light and sweet with raisins, honey, sweet berries, toffee, caramelized notes, milk chocolate, nutty notes, and rum and raisin ice cream.
Finish
Soft and mellow with lingering honey, citrus zest, and a touch of warming oak spice. Rather short, with an alcohol bite and some wood spice, caramel and clove.
