Description

Since 1879, the Aberlour distillery has been making subtle and elegant whiskies in its namesake Speyside village. The whisky's character is shaped by two fundamental ingredients: pure spring water from the nearby Ben Rinnes, and locally sourced barley grown within 15 miles of the distillery. The core range expression Aberlour 18 Years Old is unsurpassed in richness, structure and complexity. This 18-year-old single malt is a well-matured, heavily sherried expression from Aberlour up in Speyside. It is rich and fruity, with a great textured mouthfeel. Matured in the highest quality casks where it develops deep Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry flavors.

Nose
rich and creamy. Aromas of toffee, butterscotch, and ripe peach are balanced by bitter orange and a hint of char.
Palate
Soft and structured. The initial sweetness of apricot and cream gives way to deeper notes of blackcurrant jam, old leather, and oak spice.
Finish
Long and memorable. The finish is coating and warm, with lasting flavors of crème brûlée, gentle oak, and a touch of honey.
