Description

Pernod Ricard's share of the Scotch Whisky market is second only to Diageo's; a fact that is in no small part down to their acquisition of Aberlour distillery in 1974. Despite being unlucky enough to suffer two catastrophic fires (in 1879 and 1898), Aberlour has enjoyed stable production throughout most of its life, and under the current regime its popularity has exploded. This is especially true for Aberlour A'Bunadh Batch #52, a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky matured exclusively in Spanish Oloroso sherry butts and bottled at natural cask strength. It is non-chill filtered and has no age statement, released as part of a highly acclaimed ongoing batch series.

Series highlights
A'Bunadh series, meaning 'the original' in Gaelic, is an homage to Aberlour's founder, James Fleming. It is a highly acclaimed ongoing batch release.
Historical context
The A'Bunadh legend is tied to the discovery of an 1898 bottle of Aberlour in 1975, wrapped in a newspaper from the same year about a distillery fire.
