Nose
Still dusty with a wonderful coal dusty Sherry nose, with whiffs of sweet yellow fruit yoghurt and cookie dough. It smells nice and comes without any off-notes, quite fresh for an old skool malt, like a breath of fresh air in an old earthen floor warehouse, yet still sweet smelling.
Palate
Nutty and waxy sherry, with some dry and active wood, slightly bitter. It dries the tongue and palate, slightly spicy (cinnamon), fruity (dry bits of peach and apricot) and definitely old skool. Hints of cola and especially licorice, sweet, waxy, and nutty almonds. Quite hot due to the high ABV, but the aroma and initial sweetness overpower the alcohol. Fatty butter, and mixed with that, a dry and leafy quality and pencil shavings.
Finish
Breaks down a bit towards the finish, where some bitterness comes to the front and an acidic note. The finish itself is shorter than expected, gone when the strength is still making its way down and warming you.
